Charlotte, N.C. – Johnson & Wales University Athletics has announced that all three fall sports – men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball – have received bids to the USCAA National Championships, scheduled for Nov. 9 – 13 at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex in Virginia Beach, Va.
"We are very proud to have all of our fall sports teams playing in the USCAA National Championship tournament," said Trudi Lacey, Director of Athletics. "Our coaches, athletes and staff have done a tremendous job. We are committed to academic and competitive excellence and we are well on our way to building a strong tradition in our athletic department."
This marks the first time in school history that the Charlotte campus has qualified multiple teams for nationals.
The women's soccer team, ranked fifth in the USCAA, will open play on Nov. 9 at 9:30 a.m. when they take on #4 Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Science on Field #8. They will conclude group play on Nov. 11 when they play #9 Penn State Brandywine on Field #1 at 10:00 a.m.
Volleyball, ranked seventh, will open play on Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m. against #2 St. Mary of the Woods College at Field House #2. Later that day, they will play #3 Florida College at 2:00 p.m. on the same court. The following day, the team will play the yet-to-be-determined PSUAC Conference champion at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude group play against UC-Clermont at 2:00 p.m. with both matches taking place at Field House #2.
Men's Soccer, ranked sixth, will open play on Nov. 9 at 11:45 a.m. when they take on #3 Florida National University at Field #8. The team will conclude group play on Nov. 11 when they play the yet-to-be-determined PSUAC Conference champion, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Field #8.
