Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Jim Casciano and the Johnson & Wales men's basketball program announced the signing of Cape Coral, FL, native Brandon Kostyk on Wednesday. Kostyk, a senior at Mariner High School, is the seventh player to sign with Casciano's 2017 recruiting class.
A shooting guard, Kostyk helped Mariner reach the finals of Florida's state championship in FHSAA Class 6A. He averaged 11 points and six rebounds on the year, pacing Mariner to a 23-8 record.
He also is the reigning champion of the City of Palms 3-Point Contest and was selected to the county all-star game.
"Brandon is an excellent shooter and a game facilitator who will do whatever is necessary for the team to be successful," said Casciano. "He is a gym rat with a great work ethic and a strong desire to excel. I'm excited that he has decided to join us."
Kostyk was ranked with honors academically at Mariner. He is the son of Jim and Bonnie Kostyk and plans on majoring in Business.
