Charlotte, NC - Head Coach James Drzewiecki and the Johnson & Wales men's soccer program announced the signing of Wheeler High School senior Honor Henderson on Wednesday. Henderson, a resident of Marietta, GA, is the eighth player to sign with Drzewiecki's 2017 recruiting class.
The 6'0" winger has lettered all four years at Wheeler High School under head coach Michael Sawyer. Known for his dynamic pace and creativity, Henderson figures to strengthen an already potent attack for the Wildcats.
"He's the kind of player you notice right away," said Drzewiecki. "He has tremendous pace and is smooth on the ball as well. He's difficult to close down one-on-one. The scary part is he's only going to get better. We really rate him and I think he's a guy who is going to impress over the next several years."
Henderson plays on the club level for Concorde Fire's Central Black U18 squad in Georgia's Classic 1 division. He also has been training regularly with the club's Development Academy side.
He is the son of Sonya Henderson and Rodney Helper and plans on majoring in Sports/Entertainment/Event Management.
