Women's Soccer Holds on for 3-2 Win at John Wesley

High Point, N.C. - Danielle Doyle scored twice and Lana Truese added a third as the USCAA #7 Johnson & Wales women's soccer team claimed a 3-2 win over John Wesley University on Monday at A.J. Simeon Stadium.

The Wildcats (6-3) claimed the lead in the eighth minute after solid build up play from a goal kick.  Ashley Lunceford received the ball and was able to play Danielle Doyle, who set up Truese for her seventh goal of the season.

Ashli Mincey equalized for John Wesley in the 26th minute, but Doyle was able to restore the lead late in the half for the Wildcats, converting from the penalty spot.

Doyle would complete her brace in the 56th minute on an assist from Truese to make it 3-1, before a 69th minute goal by John Wesley's Kelsie Simpson ensured a nervous final 20 minutes for both sides.

Johnson & Wales will resume play on Sunday when it hosts William Peace University at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville, N.C.  Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
