JWU Volleyball Adds Swansea's Iyana Favor to Recruiting Class

Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Callie Phillips and the Johnson & Wales volleyball program announced the signing of Swansea, SC, native Iyana Favor on Thursday.  Favor, a senior at Swansea High School, is the fourth player to sign with Phillips's 2017 recruiting class.

Favor captained Swansea to a 10-8-1 record in 2016 as a middle and outside hitter under head coach Caitlin Sandroni.  She was the recipient of the team's Purple & Gold Heart Award and the school's Larry Rucker Award, awarded to the "single best representative of integrity, leadership, and character expected from Swansea Athletics."

"Iyana's coaches and teachers spoke at length on her character, dedication, work ethic, and positive spirit during her signing, and I am thrilled to add her to my program," said Phillips.  "She is very athletic and multi-talented, and she will be a wonderful addition to our squad in 2017.  I look forward to working with her this season."

An aspiring Baking & Pastry and Food Service Management major, Favor was an Honor Graduate at Swansea and ranked seventh in her class with a 4.35 GPA.

Favor played club for Lake Murray Volleyball Club and is the daughter of Elliott Adams III and Jannette Favor.
